Rob Hodson neared his own existing category lap-record, on route to winning the second Super Twins Race.
Originally red-flagged, the re-started four-lap race saw Paton vaulted Hodson, edging ever closer to thirty Oliver’s Mount race wins, finish P1 by 1.83 seconds (1.831 to be exact) with second, third, the TH Racing duo of Ryan Dixon and Joey Thompson, his nearest pursuers.
Fourth overall, for the second time today, 660 Daytona Triumph apparated Peter Hickman was first in terms of Sportbike machine mounted riders.
Rocket Racing’s Rhys Stephenson already looking like a future Scarborough front-runner, Oliver Morgan Edwards capped off the top six leaderboard.
Sidecars Race 2:
Kieran Clarke/Rob Coppock’s F2 Sidecars domination continued this afternoon, acquiring in style the second six-lap three-wheeling contest.
Nine seconds, fifteen seconds, eighteen seconds ahead, Eddys Moto Tadcaster backed Clarke/Coppock, final encounter winning margin, stood at almost twenty-eight seconds!
Steve Ramsden/Matty Ramsden, Mark Hegarty/Jack Knapton were second, third whilst Greg Lambert/Andrew Haynes sixth overall behind Michael Russell/Alice Smith and Paul Riley/Jody James, had the distinction of improving their own Pre-Injection Sidecars lap-record, lapping the 2.43 miles in distance Oliver’s Mount circuit, in 2 minutes 06.266 seconds.
Classic Superbike Race 2:
Tom Weeden vs Joey Thompson take-two. Weeden and Thompson kept close-proximity across through the race duration but once again 2016 Senior Manx GP winner Weeden, helped via a best race lap-time of 1.49.621, had the edge.
0.794 was the gap separating Weeden and Thompson at the finish-line.
TT Privateers Champion Barry Furber new to the Key Racing 916 Ducati, pocketed third with Johnny Stewart, Paul Marley, Mick Goodings rounding out the top six.
Genial German rider Chris Meyer thirteenth overall, finished top Two Strokes pilot in front of Phil Ellis.
Lightweights Race 2:
Stephen Gorton resisted Dan Frear, for a hard-earned overall Road Racing News Lightweights race win.
Gorton a top ten Manx GP finisher last month, was only 0.433 clear of Frear as race proceedings culminated.
Local ace William Grant, fresh from finishing ninth within the Senior Manx Grand Prix, attained third with Andy Hayes fourth overall, lead Super Moto runner again.
In terms of CB 500, 125/Moto 3 class honours, they were respectively collected by Steven Allan and the evergreen Tony Flinton, six decades a motorcycle racer.
