Not a million miles off the class lap-record, he already holds, Dean Harrison was again the man to beat in the second HMH Civils Supersport (A) race.
Harrison (Honda Racing UK), now 114 times an Oliver’s Mount race winner, best lap time of 1.44.833 seconds, was only 0.156 down on his record SSP pace accumulation from the 2023 Cock O’The North meeting.
Peter Hickman (Swan Racing/PHR Performance – Triumph) second, 12.422 behind Harrison, for the first time lapped the world-famous Oliver’s Mount circuit inside 1.47 seconds (new PB lap time – 1.46.964).
Classic Superbike races winner x2 Tom Weeden (Club 77 – Triumph) beat Mikey Browne (Boyce Precision Engineering/Russell Racing – Yamaha) to third whilst three times TT winner, 2019 IRRC Superbike Champion Davey Todd (Swan Racing/PHR Performance – Triumph) who admitted post-race to circuit commentator Brad Hix that he is “not quite were I need to be just yet” banked a gritty fifth place finish.
Johnny Stewart (J Stewart Garage Service – Kawasaki) placed sixth as Rob Hodson (SMT Racing – Ducati), Joey Thompson (TH Racing – Honda), Ryan Dixon (TH Racing – Honda) and Dan Frear (NLC – Yamaha) wrapped up the top ten finishers.
