Held concurrently aside CIVS (Campionato Italiano Velocita in Salita) penultimate round (final series round – Saline-Volterra, 19th-20th September, clashes with IRRC season finale at Frohburger Dreieck), the third, final round of this year’s European Hill Climb Road Race Championship took place last weekend at Spoleto in Italy.
Respective CIVS SuperOpen 1000, Super Open 800, Super Open 600 category winners in ultra-hot conditions (summer temperatures around thirty-five degrees) were:
Carmine Matarazzo (Super Open 600 x4), Daniele Stolli (Super Open 800 x4), Gabriele Peticca (SuperOpen 1000 x2) and new European Hill Climb Superbike Champion, 2026 Manx Grand Prix entrant Salvatore Sallustro (SuperOpen 1000 x2).
Overall fastest weekend exponent and outright winner of ‘Luca Salvadori L’Assoluta Challenge’ for 2026 season (racer collecting the quickest times of CIVS events – 2025 award attainer was Maurizio Bottalico) is quadbike class rider Matteo Lardori (top lap time achieved – 1.08.12).
Fastest two-wheel competitor was already-illustrated Gabriele Peticca (1.08.33 during Saturday opening CIVS races projected in main article photo from this year’s Landshaag Bergrennen meeting), the new Super Open 1000 (Superbike) CIVS Champion.
