Harrison Dominates Big Bike Opener, Onto 26 S100 Wins

The virtually perfect conditions within Monday, Tuesday’s Southern 100 qualifying sessions, continued for this morning’s Peel Holdings Senior Race.

Honda Racing UK’s Dean Harrison, showed why he started firm pre-race favourite, dominating the seven-lap encounter.

A shade under 2.6 seconds to the good over the chasing pack, post opening lap action, the 2026 Superbike & Senior TT winner, went onto bank on lap three, a new race lap-record of 2 minutes 12.174 seconds.

Moving up to overall 26 S100 victories, Harrison finished this year’s ‘Friendly Races’ contest curtain raiser, a resounding 10.273 in front of Nathan Harrison (H&H Motorcycles – Honda) with uber swift Motor Isle Billown Course newcomer Peter Hickman (8TEN Racing – BMW), 1.078 additionally adrift in third.

Paul Jordan (Jackson Racing Powered by Prosper2 – Honda) edged Joe Yeardsley (JY Chimneys and Stoves LTD – Honda) for fourth whilst Dominic Herbertson (KTS Racing – BMW) dropped to sixth, after running straight on at Cross-Four Ways.

Marcus Simpson (seventh), Conor Cummins (eighth), Michael Browne (ninth – ran as high as second before dropping back), Gordon Huxley Racing’s Jonathan Perry finalised the leaderboard top ten.

In total, twenty racers were classified as contest finishers with only race retirees been Rob Hodson and Michael Dunlop MBE, who’s challenging 2026 S100 tenure continues.
