Michael Dunlop MBE ensured, the first Country Crest Skerries 100 race since 2022 opened in record-breaking style, by setting a mesmerising new outright lap-record (1.33.784), on route to Cash for Cars Open Race triumph.
Lap on lap, gradually breaking Michael Sweeney’s resistance, it was the fourth and fifth laps when the now 136 times Irish road race winner (more wins now than his father Robert Dunlop), twice broke his own existing lap-record.
Fellow BMW pilot, respected rival Sweeney, ended the six-lap race stint, 7.257 behind with third placed Brian McCormack, 7.167 additionally adrift.
Marcus Simpson held off Ryan Whitehall, whose fine form continues for fourth.
James Chawke attained sixth with top Supersport rider Andy Farrell (P7), Kevin Keyes (P8), Joe Loughlin (P9), Sean Brolly (P10) seventh to tenth.
