TT 2026 Chat: Chris ‘Rabbit’ Moore

TT 2026 Chat: Chris ‘Rabbit’ Moore

1996 Newcomers Lightweight Manx Grand Prix winner, 2014 Formula 2 Classic TT runner-up Chris Moore over recent years, has tackled Super Twins TT competition.

Aboard through the past two weeks, Silverstar Services/iHeat Racing Z650 Kawasaki apparatus, ‘Rabbit’ finished qualifying week, thirtieth fastest in class.

Ultimately-a-non-starter for the sole Carole Nash Sportbike race, he stated before technical gremlins struck, how he has found TT 2026 as-a whole.

“Moist, generally pretty good, we did thirteen laps in practice, which was pretty good, apart from suspension changes.

I’ve finally decided that the base settings we’ve been running for the past three years, are completely wrong.

So, we’ve started from scratch almost but that’s a little bit late in the practice week.

But I think we-are-definitely-going in the right direction now, I’ve had some good help, and I think this practice lap now should actually-identify that we are going properly in the right direction, am seriously hoping so.”

Chris continued:

“I’ve been persevering with the settings that, essentially when I rented the bike at the Manx Grand Prix, it was good enough for a second place there.

I just can’t get comfortable on the really-bumpy-stuff, am just making the same mistakes everywhere on that bumpy section, I’ve got to change something, so I’ve changed it.”

Prior to TT 2026 endeavours, Moore who hails originally from Douglas, Isle of Man, was showcasing his two-stroke, yesteryear racing skillset at the Blackford Financial Services, Pre-TT Classic Road Races.

Reflecting on his latest Motor Isle Billown course racing stint, he said:

“Pretty good apart from, I was running in second place on the 250, then ran on at Ballabeg whilst in second place.

Re-joined in about seventh or eighth and I managed to get up to fourth place, I was riding around thinking I  was actually in third so I was starting to catch the guy who was in third place but I thought he was in second, so I was almost settled for a safe third and it turned out it was fourth, so bit gutted.

Then my airbag went off on the big Kawasaki of Dale Fordham’s, DRF Services, again going into Ballabeg over those bumps there, bang airbag went off.

Turns out I’d got the wrong algorithm in the module, so it’s now been changed when we got up to the TT Grandstand. That shouldn’t happen again now.”

Moore will travel back to IOM shores in August for the Classic TT, riding the same bikes he piloted within the Pre-TT Classic plus 350 Yamsel TR3 equipment.
