Fedrik Matthys is officially the inaugural ESR (European Series Road Racing) Champion.
Whilst team-mate, mentor, co ESR organiser Laurent Hoffmann vaulted to Horice Superbike Race Two victory, Matthys eighth place finish, fourth in terms of full-time ESR competitors, proved enough for his first major real roads Championship glory.
Race winner Hoffmann, who finished just five points shy of Matthys in the final ESR Championship points table, top SBK Race 2 pursuer, ending 6.710 adrift was pending Manx Grand Prix newcomer Markus Karlsson.
Nico Muller, putting aside an incident from yesterday’s big bike contest, bested Tomas Toth for third.
Anssi Koski (Florian Astner (P6), leading Horice debutant Kevin De Haan (P7), afore-mentioned ESR Champion Matthys, Dominik Haslinger (P9), Jakub ‘Kuba’ Sprojcar (P10) netted placings fifth to tenth.
