Moved over into today’s Southern 100 race schedule, the re-run Mike Kerruish Plumbing Lightweight (Super Twins) race, the first ever live S100 race live streamed, via the King of The Roads website, promised tight, compact activity.
A race long scrap for victory spoils between pole-sitter Rob Hodson (SMT Racing – Paton) and Davey Todd (Milenco by Padgetts – Paton) went right to the sixth, last lap.
Todd who had passed Hodson at Cross Four Ways on lap two, had a reversal of fortune at the same location on lap six, running wide, allowing Hodson to regain the P1 initiative.
Hodson, the 2022 Classic Superbike Manx GP winner, did not look back from here, holding firmly onto first, taking his fifth S100 win.
Reigning Solo Champion Todd second, final margin back to Hodson grew to plus one second.
Joe Yeardsley (Scott Racing – Aprilia) held off a charging Michael Sweeney (MSR – Aprilia) for third.
Barry Furber took fourth with Paul Jordan (Jackson Racing Powered by Prosper – Aprilia) recovering to sixth, after an error before Williams Corner on lap two.
Marcus Simpson edged Jamie Williams for eighth, former No Limits Racing Champion Lewis Arrowsmith, Paul Cassidy wrapped up the first ten finishers.
