Watched by good friend, co 8TEN Racing team-owner Peter Hickman, Davey Todd stormed to platinum jubilee, Southern 100, Ellan Vannin Fuels Senior race success.
Swift off the start-line, already by Iron Gate, he had opened a modest gap to the chasing group, headed by Honda Racing UK’s Dean Harrison.
Although Harrison briefly set the race’s fastest lap, on lap two, Todd (Superstock mounted) was in control throughout.
On lap four, throwing the gauntlet down, the Brotton rider attained a new race lap record of 2 minutes 11.433 seconds.
This enabled him to expand the gap to Harrison to 2.16 seconds, which then expanded further, further across laps five, six and seven, to an eventual race winning advantage of 4.564 seconds.
Completing the podium alongside Todd, Harrison (Dean) was another Harrison, Nathan, following a mature, composed performance aboard the H&H Motorcycles Honda.
Michael Dunlop fourth, 12.673 behind race winner Todd, by his standings had a disappointing competition endeavour around the 4.25 miles long, Motor Isle Billown Course.
Tandragee Supersport winner x2 Michael Browne, having his first outing on newly acquired Honda tackle placed fifth as Super Twins Race 1 victor Rob Hodson, Paul Jordan, Michael Sweeney, Jamie Coward, Michael Evans finalised the leader-board top ten.
