A newcomer last year to the famous German Fischereihafen Rennen roads meeting in Bremerhaven, North Berwick based Martin Harrison is the next rider to take part in Road Racing News, ten questions challenge.

An accomplished Pre TT Classic, Classic TT, Oliver’s Mount exponent, his answers to the popular series of questions are as follows:

Q1: Favourite National Roads Meeting?

“The Billown Southern 100 and TT course events are the the best, always are well ran meetings.”

Q2: Favourite Racing Bike?

“My 1986 Suzuki GSXR 1100, as it’s a great bike to ride and love racing it at the Classic TT.”

Q3: What’s the best part of competing on the roads?

“It’s the people that are around you and the great atmosphere at all road racing events, and when your racing you get a great adrenaline rush.”

Q4: TT, North West 200 or Ulster Grand Prix?

“Would have to say the TT, Mountain Course. Just you and the bike taking in 37 miles of flat out racing.”

Q5: Most Respected Rival?

“Have raced against some fast riders and great names in the past, but did always like racing against Ryan Farquhar at Oliver’s Mount.”

Q6: Best roads moment thus far?

“Winning the Barry Sheene cup at Oliver’s Mount, plus getting a bronze replica trophy, after competition on the TT course.”

Q7: Is their one place or country in the world, where you would like to see a roads meeting held?

“Would be nice to see a road race in Cumbria as I’m a Carlisle lad, or somewhere hot like Portugal my second home.”

Q8: Who’s your road racing hero?

“Got to be Joey Dunlop and Steve Hislop.”

Q9: Supersport or Superbike?

“Superbike for me as too big for the Supersport 600, but I do race a Super Twin so I might be talking pish!”

Q10: Pole position or fastest lap?

“Think getting your fastest lap means more than pole.”
