300 Curves of Gustav Havel: Race Day Round Up

Before racing took place, race day action at the Horice located 300 Curves of Gustav Havel meet, opened with the rescheduled second Superbike qualifying session.

MTP Racing’s David Datzer consolidated pole position, finishing almost 2.8 seconds quicker than top chasers Didier Grams and Joey Den Besten.

Following Superbike Q2, the 125 Sport Production exponents took centre stage, for their sole ten lap race.

45 plate holder Michal Vecko, would prove the cream of the field, securing race honours by the stellar margin of 12.9 seconds over lead pursuer Pavel Habrda.

Concurrently run together, the combined 125 GP/250 Open/Supersport 300 encounter saw Patrik Kolar finish top overall, first in terms of 125 GP (Grand Prix) pilots.

Michal Savinkov, Steffen Graemer finalised the rostrum finishers whilst respective 250, SSPRT 300 spoils went to Rico Vetter and now alongside Bohumil Stasa, the second most successful racer in event history, Radek Lamich.

Next on Sunday’s timetable was the Supersport contest which began in unfortunate fashion, with a multiple rider incident pausing competition.

WRP Wepol Racing’s Marek Cerveny went onto win the re-started ten lap race finishing by the race’s conclusion, six seconds plus in front of pole-sitter, unofficial class lap record holder from yesterday, Performance Racing Achterhoek’s Jorn Hamberg.

Triple IRRC Supersport Champion Cerveny, also captured Super Twins success after overhauling early race leader Michal ‘Indi’ Dokoupil.

Dokoupil took second with third going to improving French roads exponent, Wayne Bourgeais.

Supermono machinery wise, nothing could stop David Datzer and factory Kramer tackle.

Such was Datzer’s potent pace on route to race victory, that on lap three he set a new class lap record of 2:24.870 seconds.

Fellow Kramer runner, 100th Anniversary Manx GP bound Ivo Ladde placed third with second occupied by Petr Najman.

Unfortunately race day ended abruptly with the showpiece Superbike race, quickly red-flagged and ultimately not re-started.
