300 Curves Of Gustav Havel: Qualifying Wrap Up

Many of the Czech Republic’s leading pure road racers, where amongst the main stars during qualifying sessions today, at the 55th 300 Curves of Gustav Havel meeting, at Horice.

Crowd favourite Michal Dokoupil’s time from the opening Super Twins qualifying session, 2 minutes 30.825 seconds was just enough to hold off Q2 pace setter Joel Smolders, to seal pole position for the 10 lap race.

Kamil Holan topped the Supersport time sheets, underlying his prowess around Horice, aboard the Dafit Moto Racing YZF R6 Yamaha.

Fellow IRRC front runners Wolfgang Schuster and Max Gaube where the nearest challengers to the 2012 Newcomers A Manx GP winner, whilst Eric Lenser lead the 250 brigade.

Pace setters in the 125 GP and Sport Production 125 classes, where Patrik Kolar and Martin Sedlo, leading Austrian road racer Christopher Eder also impressed aboard his 125 FRR KTM mount.

Arguably the standout performance in qualifying today, outside of Marek Cerveny wrapping up Superbike pole position, was by Shaun Anderson in the Supermono class.

Finishing over four seconds clear of closest pursuer Nico Kehrer, the highly rated rider was very impressive on the Kramer Motorcycles 690 steed.
