2.364 miles (3805 metres) long, the legendary Schleizer Dreieck circuit in Germany, is well known for its hosting of an IRRC round in recent seasons, (2025 IRRC Schleiz event – 23rd-24th of August).
At the same time as the mid-point of the 2025 TT Races (30th May-1st June), Schleiz hosted the second round of 2025 IDM (Internationale Deutsche Motorradmeisterschaft) series.
Croatian rider, Martin ‘Spidermartin’ Vugrinec (P14 – SBK Race 1, did not finish Race 2), a full-time IDM Superbike rider, is a former Prize of Krizevci exponent. It is pertinent to remember that Croatia’s ‘Monte Carlo’ returns in less than two weeks, (22nd June).
Justin Hanse (astride YZF-R7 Yamaha tackle), last September’s double Twin Cup races winner at Frohburger Dreieck, took two IDM Sportbike podium finishes. Ben Kugler (P5/P3), another rider in this new class, was IRRC Supersport wildcard at Schleiz in 2024.
Pro Superstock 1000 races participants, who have varied racing experiences from IRRC Hengelo, Chimay, Schleiz, Frohburg events, included Dutch ace Ricardo Brink, Freddie Heinrich, Felix ´El Klincko´ Klinck, Marc Neumann, Belgian racer Ouri Bikkems, Jan Buchel, Daniel Widmer, Julius Ilmberger and Udo Reichmann.
ZX-4RR Ninja Kawasaki Cup winner x2, Felix Kauertz also has Frohburg experience within his racing resume, same applies to Gido Nittke (P4/P2 – ZX-4RR Cup races).
Daniel Stache, Timo Kruger, Till Weiss, Lukas Moller, Michael Gotz, Paul Friese, Mirko Skeide, Jochen Mader, Michael Kleinert, Sandy Schoder, Hendrik Koster, Ingo Bischoff with already-mentioned Justin Hanse in Twin Cup were added 2024 Frohburger Dreieck starters in this category.
Another Twin Cup encounters exponent, local hero Philipp Stich, is traditionally very-fast IRRC Supersport wildcard racer around Schleizer Dreieck.
The next stop on the IDM calendar, is the Czech round at Autodrom Most (20th-22nd June), intertwined with Sidecar World Championship races, featuring for example Todd Ellis/Emmanuelle Clement, fresh from two fourth place finishes at TT 2025, who will arrive directly from previous World Sidecars explorations with Alpe Adria at Pannonia Ring in Hungary.
