2025 CIVS Round 3, Lo Spino Hill Climb

2025 CIVS Round 3, Lo Spino Hill Climb

Vaulting into fruition, within the same period, which has seen the Milwaukee Senior TT race cancelled, Kopcany Road Races take place, be disrupted by bad weather, the 1.565 miles (2 518 metres) long Hill-Climb track on public roads from Pieve Santo Stefano to Fontandrone (Passo Dello Spino), hosted over the past weekend the third CIVS (Campionato Italiano Velocita in Salita) round of 2025.

Last year’s meeting, saw the late, great Luca Salvadori set a new track record of 1 minute 24.93 seconds.

As we know, a regular top CIVS participant, Maurizio Bottalico was not competing at ‘Lo Spino’ in Tuscany region in central Italy because he was tackling for the past weeks, TT 2025 (Superbike/Superstock races with Team Crowe Performance M1000RR BMW, Super Twins with Team ILR/Frog Vehicle Developments S1-R Paton).

We wish him a speedy recovery, after sustaining a laceration injury during the Opul Superstock TT race (finished P27), when his shoulder hit a wall at Crosby.

Fast riders, lighting up the top-end of Lo Spino Races included Francesco Cianfarani (SuperOpen 600 winner x4), 2023 and 2024 European Hill Climb Road Race Champion of Supersport 300 category, Daniele Stolli from Trieste (SuperOpen 800 x4), Gabriele Peticca (SuperOpen 1000 x3) and 2024 IRRC Superbike Schleizer Dreieck wildard Francesco Maria Piva (Saturday second race SuperOpen 1000 time-trial victor).

The next CIVS round (6th July) coinciding with Imatranajo, will be Isola del Liri-Arpino before premiere of CIVS scene in San Marino (10th August), under the patronage of already featured Maurizio Bottalico and finale at Saline-Volterra (21st September).
