The 2025 ‘Championnat de France de la Montagne’ season is over. The French Hill Climb Champions are-decided, including former IRRC rider Steven Bellavoine (Superbike) and Hugo Grange-Martin (Supersport), both P2 last weekend at Frangy hill climb track on public roads, organised by ‘X Sports Game Crew’.
Overall, fastest, winner of Supersport category and new track-record holder for this class at Frangy is Pierre Yves Bian (1.00.751).
Yves Bian needs no introduction to roads scene fans, the 2021 IRRC Supersport Champion, TT 2023 Super Twins Race Two podium finisher (the first French solo TT podium finisher in history), Northwest 200 rostrum finisher in 2022 and Frohburger Dreieck Super Twins lap-record holder.
He is aiming to make a full-time racing comeback for 2026, after injuries from an incident in May’s Northwest 200, largely-affected his 2025 road racing campaign.
For the comparison of times, France’s fastest TT racer, Amalric Blanc, recorded his best heat time at Frangy in 2021 (1.00.108) albeit with Superbike machinery.
Last Sunday’s SBK category winner was Joffray Lelievre (1.01.162).
Here is to more dynamic, compelling French Hill Climb races in 2026, which have opened real roads accounts for French road race talents including afore-mentioned stars and Jonathan Goetschy, Julien Cregniot, Gerald Dath, Eddy Ferre, Romain Cleaz Savoyen, Kevin Rigot, Mathieu Rieder.
