2025 Classic TT: Jamie Coward Makes Podium Finishing Comeback

Officially now the most successful Classic TT competitor, in terms of podium finishes, Jamie Coward made a tumultuous return last month to Mountain Course racing.

Third within the one-lap Historic Junior race, the Hebden Bridge rider astride Craven Classic Racing/Ted Woof CB350 K4 Honda metal, elevated his Classic TT podiums total to eight.

P3 in Formula 1 Classic Superbike qualifying (aboard Greenall Racing Kawasaki), lapping at 126.245 mph (17 minutes 55.912 seconds), the four times TT Privateers Champion reminded everyone of his formidable pedigree at road racing’s ‘Power and The Glory’.

Before racing on the final day of the reintroduced Classic TT, Road Racing News had an impromptu catch up with the sixteen times Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough race winner.

Stating he felt he was riding better than ever, prior to a well-documented Super Twins race incident during the Northwest 200, he said all the drive to get back to optimum race fitness was to make sure he could compete at the Classic, ensuring a full year without Mountain Course did not arise.

Adding that if there was any year to miss a TT it was this year, given the inconsistent weather throughout, Coward is looking forward to getting back to TT affiliated racing in 2026.

His machinery line-up looks set to remain unchanged, with rides on works Triumph, M1000RR BMW tackle anticipated.

A TT racer since 2013, his two top three finishes at road racing’s most acclaimed ‘Major’ have both been-taken in the Super Twins category (P2 – 2019, P3 – Race One – 2023).
