Fifteen years since making his TT Races debut in 2010, Waterford ace Brian McCormack’s strive for grand Mountain Course racing moments, remains in earnest.
Back with Greenall Racing and ZXR 750 Kawasaki equipment for the reintroduced Classic TT, McCormack is ultra keen to finally crack a podium finish with Angus Greenall’s esteemed squad.
“I’ve been close so many times, just silly things went wrong last year and previous year, but podium is what I am aiming for, the bike is-capable of doing-it, it’s been on the podium every year, no reason why we should not be there.”
Fifteenth, eighteenth x2, twenty second from Superstock, Supersport races of TT 2025, ‘Big Mac’ admitted that this year’s weather impacted TT was tough.
“Never really got going to be honest, never really felt like we got going, it was stop-start so much.
Talking to lots of people, who feel the same, bit of a frustrating one but you have them years, we will come back next year and try again but left a bit of unfinished business so looking forward to getting back out there now.”
The fortieth fastest racer in TT Races history, went onto confirm that the Roadhouse Macau team, for which he competes for and is team-owner, will have a two-rider line-up at next years’ TT.
“Plans are flat out at the moment getting ready, we are going to have a second rider again next year, but we don’t know who yet, we have a few options, so we will have a lot of bikes out next year in the Roadhouse colours, so should be fun.”
As in 2024, McCormack’s Roadhouse Macau outfit is supporting a Manx GP competitor, this time good friend, newcomer Brandon Kavanagh.
“Brandon’s been with me since he was 12 years of age helping, he’s been around me for years, so when he said he wanted to come and do this, it was kind of a non brainer then to put him on my bike and make it as safe and as good for him as we could.
He is doing well, 106 last night for his first night, hopefully he will progress safely, all I want is for him to come home in one piece and say he enjoyed it.”
Post the Classic TT, the Macau Grand Prix is not on the horizon with McCormack’s intended next race outings being a-few BSB meetings and the Daytona Race of Champions in October.
