2024 Steve Henshaw Gold Cup Preview – Part 4 – Lightweight Duels

An array of class honours will be swept up in this weekend’s, six-lap Road Racing News, Steve Henshaw Gold Cup Lightweight encounters.

Since been added to the Scarborough racing itinerary, the CB 500 Honda class has developed a hardy following from seasoned pure road racing enthusiasts.

Six racers have gained entries for the latest Oliver’s Mount, CB 500 action instalment, including:

Renowned category force Grant Whitaker (HWW Racing), Scott Aitkin (Greylin Engineering), Bailey Harker and Martin Robbins (D&M Racing).

Moving onto 125/Moto 3, 250 two-stroke, 400cc 4-stroke competitors, the entry total exceeds twenty-two participants.

Notable entrants include, to name but a few:

Top five Supersport TT finisher, last minute entry addition Jim Hind, all-time Oliver’s Mount wins record carrier Ian Lougher, the versatile Dan Sayle (Falcon Electrical).

William Grant (Arosa Caravan & Camping Park – Ninja Kawasaki), Stephen Gorton, Nick Anderson (RMKD Racing).

Don Gilbert (IOM Bike Storage), Tony Flinton, Andrew Jackson (Moto CJ Imports), Lightweight Manx Grand Prix podium finisher, the dominant two-stroke Scarborough ace of 2024, Whippet Racing’s Stuart Hall.

Oliver Dean, debutants Sean Seddon, Madbros sponsored Stephen McAdoo and Magpie Racing’s Paul Magnay (FZR 400 Yamaha).

Magnay, set for his only Scarborough outing of the year, has enjoyed prominent performances at Aintree, finishing outright third in the Formula 400 Championship standings. Late last month, he was on marshalling duties at the Manx GP, now it’s back to racing duties!
