Let’s see what awaits us at Dymokury, this upcoming weekend in the ever fiercely competitive Supersport category. Top Czech IRRC Supersport riders compete, class lap-record holder, five times Dymokury winner Petr Najman (1.03.279), nine times event winner Marek Cerveny (1.03.283), 2021, 2022 Supersport top speedster, Matej Vit (1.03.753).
Next leading pretenders will be very fast riders like Tomas Toth (1.04.097), Wolfgang ´Wolfi´ Schuster (1.04.116), Sebastian ‘Frosch´ Frotscher (1.04.157), Karel ´Chupa´ Brandtner (1.04.396), Martin Hulin (1.04.867), Ales Sykora (1.05.535), Dusan Kovarik (1.06.058) and Patrik Hemerka (1.06.419).
SBK race winning contender Michal Prasek, makes his Supersport meeting premiere, IRRC Horice wild-cards last month, Karel Pesek, Maxim Zanaska are also entered as is Czech legend, permanent IRRC 2024 Supersport pilot, Roman Bocek, middleweight/SBK intertwined race victor in 1998 at Dymokury.
Four female riders compete, Veronika Hankocyova (TT 2024 newcomer and 2014 Super Twins Dymokury race winner), Anna Malinova, Veronika Vojenciakova and Marketa Bartonova.
The rest of the racers, from the 37 strong start-list, not mentioned yet, read as follows: Lukas Vankat, Michal Bystrican, Petr Sedlak, Zdenek Sedlak, Ondrej Kubalek, Vojtech Hanousek, Jiri Dudinak, Roman Prochazka, Ondrej Bulvas.
Tomas Rejmanek, Dominik Bartonik, Josef Stanek, Libor Kreuzmann, Pavel Novak, Filip Mraz, Zbynek Prochazka, German Florian Glashauser plus Norbert Szczepanek from Poland.
Other Classes:
There are some well-known names in other classes. The battle for primacy of the GP 125cc class is likely to be commanded by German lightweight respected specialist, three times Dymokury winner Chris Meyer, most winning ´300 Curves of Gustav Havel´ racer Patrik Kolar, seven times Dymokury winner Austrian Christopher Eder and Oldrich Podlipny, sixty-year-old 125 cc category legend from Horice.
Another evergreen Horice racing star, Marek Zima will be battling for Sport Production 125 category honours alongside six-times, event winner Michal Vecko.
GP 250 action features the above showcased Chris Meyer, Christopher Eder, Zdenka Kucerova (life partner of Patrik Kolar) and 70-year-old legend Karel Kalina (6 wins in modern classes at Dymokury). The only Moto 3 jockey is Lukas Berger whilst Maxim Zanaska, Karel Silpoch are the main favourites for Supersport 300 glory.
Super Twins thrillers look a virtual certainty, given the quality of competitors including the previously mentioned Marek Cerveny (four times IRRC Supersport Champion), Petr Najman, Roman Bocek, Ales Sykora, David Hanzalik, Veronika Hankocyova, Michal Vecko with Daniel Zornweg, Jan Markalous, Jan Herzog, former TT competitor Stefan Holz, Lubos Konak, David Kuzela, Ludovit Krusina, Milan Hanzalik.
Ones to watch straddling Supermono, Supersport 400 steeds include Ladislav Vojtko, Petr Hulin, Daniel Zornweg, Moritz Nestler, Dan Vyslouzil, Petr Plichta, Milan Hanzalik.
Classic races will see Austrian racing inventory Johann Furbock, Ondrej Mraz, Vitezslav Hatan, Marek Stibor (experienced this year in La Baneza Road races in Spain), Chris Meyer and UK entrants Richard Peers-Jones with David Gilbert competing.
The ‘Lap of Honour’ will showcase some exclusive CZ, Jawa motorcycles ridden in the past by Frantisek Stastny, Gustav Havel, Vaclav Parus and Bohumil Stasa. All systems go, Dymokury Road Races 2024 edition is loading!
