The Cock O’The North meet, which returned in record-breaking style last year, traditionally has good weather (fingers crossed!), a chilled-out atmosphere and attracts a diverse, intriguing entry-list.
This is certainly applicable to this year’s event entry, with quality fields per class.
BDS Motorcycles Supersport wise, 41 competitors have placed entries in. Adjacent to Scarborough returnee, top six TT finisher last month Jim Hind (NLC Components – R6 Yamaha), the middleweight category starting-list features plenty more rising roads scene stars, including:
Barry Sheene Trophy winner Don Gilbert (Isle of Man Bike Storage), 130 mph club TT member Rob Hodson (SMT Racing), Mike Norbury, Tom Weeden (Club 77 – R6 Yamaha).
Gary McCoy (Mad Bros Racing – Suzuki), Joe Yeardsley (Spin Arena – R6 Yamaha), Gareth Arnold (Cowton Racing), Aran Sadler (A S Electricals), David McArthur (Fostec Engineering).
Jay Bellers Smith (TH Racing – Honda), Johnny Stewart, Craig Szczypek, welcome North Yorkshire ‘Mini TT’ returners Josh Leaning, Andy Smart (VRS Racing).
Oliver’s Mount stalwarts also hoping to unlock prodigious race finishes include Mark Goodings, Adrian Harrison (Brook Built Racing), Paul Marley, Dan Forbes.
Arthur Gissing, John Marsh, Russell Brook, Roddy Taylor astride rasping MV Agusta tackle and the evergreen Stephen ‘Degsy’ Degnan.
Newcomers keen to make striking impressions include Chris Stuart, Eddy Wormald, Steve Hardy and Allspeeds Motorcycles Racing by Garnett Electrical’s Nick Gledhill.
