Three of the top stars from the 100th Anniversary Manx Grand Prix, excelled at the eighth Cain Road Race edition.
Yesterday, Senior Manx Grand Prix winner Joe Yeardsley ended his maiden Mexican, North American real roads stint with a fantastic, outright runner-up finish.
Yeardsley astride 636 Kawasaki tackle, recorded a race time of 38 minutes 32.193 seconds.
This put him 20.356 seconds behind overall victor, two times successive event Champion, fellow Supersport class exponent, Gonzalo Castro Gutierrez.
Finalising the overall top three alongside Castro Gutierrez and Yeardsley was European Hill Climb maestro, Manx GP podium finisher Maurizio Bottalico.
S1000RR BMW powered Bottalico additionally had the honour of topping, the 1000cc steed’s category, besting meeting specialist Arturo Anguiano Urquiza.
2024 Manx GP team-mate, Junior race conqueror, Spanish Mountain Course pioneer Victor Lopez also showed off his significant roads’ scene skillset, finishing fourth in terms of 1000cc runners.
The Cain Road Race is night and day different compared to road races in the UK, the Isle of Man and Europe.
The event’s length (74 kilometres), road surface, challenges that it brings have a vibe of Dakar Rally, Targa Florio, Mille Miglia about it. As I stated last year, it’s not just competing it’s about finishing the race.
