By Leading newcomer driver of TT 2022 Harry Payne, TT podium finisher this year alongside Ben Birchall, Kevin Rousseau, are the 2024 World Sidecar Champions.
Payne the thirty first British World Sidecars Champion/Rousseau’s title glory was secured following a stirring, titanic race long fight at Estoril with 2021 Champion Markus Schlosser/Luca Schmidt.
Following the finalisation of the seventeenth and final lap of the past weekend’s, second three-wheeling contest, only 0.053 covered Payne/Rousseau and Schlosser/Schmidt.
Eight times Champion Tim Reeves/Mark Wilkes wrapped up their season with a podium finish (update – disqualified after post-race scrutineering) as another three-wheeler icon, Imatranajo alumni Pekka Paivarinta/Adam Christie banked fourth.
Championship points wise, Steinhausen Racing’s Payne/Rousseau finished three points to the good over Schlosser/Schmidt with third overall sealed by the Christie brothers Sam & Tom.
