Yesterday via social media platforms, I posed the question just for a bit of fun what is the ultimate pure road racing team?
I’m sure this question has been asked before and discussed by thousands and thousands of real roads fans worldwide, debating who would be a part of their dream racing outfit from riders to the team manager to mechanics to the machinery line up.
Already via Facebook, Twitter there has been some great opinions stated, which include the following:
Photographer Marc Falconer:
“Difficult question – if I had to go racing today, I’d look to the Padgetts’ team but perhaps on BMWs with Hicky (Peter Hickman) & Deano (Dean Harrison)?”
Six times Manx GP top forty finisher, Nigel Rea:
“I’d have McGuinness (John) on a BMW with Mark Hanna prepping it.”
Ulster GP, Southern 100, Classic TT rostrum finisher Russ Mountford:
“Hicky (Peter Hickman) and Dean (Harrison) on BMW’s with Clive Padgett running the job.”

Oliver’s Mount Scarborough specialist Brian Greenfield:
“Just draft me into the Padgetts Honda team with Bruce Anstey as team mate, & Paul Moz Owen as Entertainment manager! What a team.”
Racing aficionado, photographer Tony Rolls:
“From the current crop only racers would be MD (Michael Dunlop) and (Dean) Harrison. Manager very difficult Beltran (Havier) or Tuxworth (Neil).
For machines I think you’ve got to go BMW for big stuff will be good to see what new Fireblade (Honda) will do on the roads though. R6 (Yamaha) and chuck in the Aprilia 660 for Super Twin races.”
