WCMCC Hill Climb Beckons

As the motorcycling season draws to a close and the evenings get shorter, the West Cork Motorcycle Club will host the last closed roads motorcycle event in the country this Sunday in the outskirts of Clonakilty at Twohigs Hill, staging their annual hill climb.

It will be a welcome return to the West Cork venue which saw former Manx GP winner Derek Wilson take the overall honours in 2019, from recent 2 times National Road Racing Championship winner Keelim Ryan.

The good news for fans of the event is that both protagonists return this Sunday to battle it out in their respective classes. They won’t have it all their own way as nipping at their heels will be Kerry’s latest 2 wheeled sensation Anthony O’Carroll on his Kawasaki ZXR600.

Another notable entry is Cork’s very own World Wheelie Record holder Ted Brady who competes in the premier class against the likes of Michael ‘Derby’ O’Donovan and the poster-boy himself David Hayes!

Action will get underway at approximately 11am on Sunday morning and please note there will be diversions in place form 8am, at which time the road closes for the event.

The weather is favourable so get to the track early to secure your vantage point for what is set to be another cracking running of the timed mile sprint.

Don’t forget we’ll also have Donie O’Brien and company on their Quads as well as pit-bikes on the roads along with the bigger machinery so there will be something to set everybody’s pulses racing!

P85VK82 will get you to the start line or alternatively stick Pallas, Clonakilty, Co. Cork into the satnav and the rest will take care of itself!

For more up to date information stick WCMCC into Google or Facebook and there will also be further event information available at either outlet.
