After Supersport 300 class conqueror Barry Davidson took his total of Irish road race wins to 96, another true Irish road racing legend, lit-up this afternoon’s Walderstown Supersport encounter, Ballymoney’s Michael Dunlop.
On pole for the seven lap Supersport race stint, Dunlop aboard his own teams Carl Cox Motorsport supported Yamaha, didn’t make the best start with Michael Browne gaining the early hole shot.
As the race progressed though, Dunlop’s 600cc prowess began to bear fruit and by the race’s conclusion he took the victory spoils to the tune of three seconds over BE Racing/RK Racing’s Browne.
Dunlop’s latest triumph at Walderstown, vaults his Irish road race wins total to an incredible 111.
Duke Road Race Rankings Champion Michael Sweeney took third, just over 0.65 behind fellow countryman Browne.
Graham Kennedy claimed an excellent fourth place finish in front of Wilson Craig Racing’s Darryl Tweed whilst Liam Chawke also impressed on route to sixth.
Remaining race finishers were Paul Fallon, 2019 Irish road race Junior Support Champion Vinny Brennan and Noel Carroll.
