Vauxhall International North West 200 – Superstock Round Up

Superstock Race 1:

Ian Hutchinson won a quite memorable opening superstock race, at the 2016 Vauxhall International North West 200, following a world class all round display on on Tyco BMW’s stock S1000RR BMW.

Ian held off a determined challenge from Peter Hickman, who’s second place finish illustrated the undoubted potential of the all new ZX10R Kawasaki.

17 times North West 200 winner Alastair Seeley finished in third place, just 0.767 behind the race winner, having throughout been in contention for race victory.

Michael Rutter secured fourth place finish, having consistently been amongst the pace setters out front, on the Bathams SMT Racing S1000RR BMW.

Michael Dunlop, looked to have encountered tyre problems on the final lap, having gone into the fifth lap, with a reasonable advantage out front.

Lee Johnston, East Coast Racing S1000RR BMW, finalised the top six finishers.

Gary Johnson finished in seventh place whilst Jeremy McWilliams sealed a highly creditable eighth place finish.

The top ten was completed by Horst Saiger and Australia’s fastest competitor around the Mountain Course, David Johnson.

Outside of the top ten, many a rising star impressed which included Sam West 11th, James Cowton 12th, Danny Webb 13th, Alan Bonner 14th, Dan Hegarty 15th, Josh Day 16th and Seamus Elliott in eighteenth place.
