Ulster Grand Prix – Superbike Race Preview

The superbike races at this years Ulster grand prix are set to bring entertaining, exciting and thrilling racing to the worlds fastest road race. Superbike TT winner this year Michael Dunlop starts favourite for the superbike races. Michael is set to compete on the Honda TT legends racing superbike.

Having won the second superbike race at last years Ulster grand prix theres no doubt that Michael will be confident in both superbike races at this years Ulster grand prix.

Having won the Southern 100 solo championship Guy Martin has found some good form on the Tyco Suzuki by TAS superbike. Guy in 2012 won the feature superbike race at the Ulster grand prix and will be aiming to achieve the same result at this years event.

Cameron Donald has lapped the Ulster grand prix circuit at more than 132 mph and for this years Ulster grand prix superbike races Cameron is competing for the Wilson Craig racing team on a Honda CBR 1000 Fireblade superbike.

Current Ulster grand prix lap record holder Bruce Anstey will be looking for more success in the Ulster grand prix superbike races when competing on the Padgetts racing CBR 1000 Honda Fireblade superbike.

Gary Johnson is confident of recording top results in this years superbike races at the Ulster grand prix. Gary is competing on the JRC racing Honda Fireblade superbike which is a ex WFR Honda superbike. The bike has proven potential and Gary is aiming for his first Ulster grand prix win this year in the superbike races.

SMT racing will be looking for top results when competing at their first Ulster grand prix this year with Dan Stewart on board the teams Honda Fireblade superbike. Dan made his Ulster grand prix debut in 2010 acquiring consistent results.

Milwaukee Yamaha are looking to achieve podium finishes in the superbike races at this years Ulster grand prix. Conor Cummins and William Dunlop have both won at the Ulster grand prix before, so the aims are obvious for both Conor and William in the superbike races, the aim is to win.

The first newcomer to ever lap at over 130 mph at the Ulster grand prix was Dean Harrison. Dean is back this year competing for the RC Express racing Kawasaki by MSS performance team. Dean is competing on a ZX10 Kawasaki superbike and theres no doubt that Dean can challenge for podium finishes and race wins in the superbike races at this years Ulster grand prix.

Lee Johnston achieved podium finishes on his debut at the Ulster grand prix last year and Lee is back this year competing for the East coast racing team on a CBR 1000 Fireblade Honda superbike.

Rising road racing stars Dan Kneen, Derek Mcgee, Michael Sweeney, Dan Cooper and William Davison all have the talent and ability to achieve top results in the superbike races at this years Ulster grand prix.

Current Irish road race champion for the superbike class Derek Shiels is going into the Ulster grand prix with great confidence, Derek will be competing on a ZX10 Kawasaki for the CD racing team.

Jamie Hamilton is set to compete on a ZX10 Kawasaki superbike for the KMR Kawasaki powered by Vauxhall team at this years Ulster grand prix. Jamie is having a great season and has recorded podium finishes in superbike races at the cock of the north road races, spring cup road races and at the Mid Antrim 150 road races.

Top 15 finisher in this years senior TT race Stephen Thompson will be aiming to continue this form in the superbike races at the Ulster grand prix. Stephen is competing for John Burrows Cookstown/Burrows engineering team on a GSX-R 1000 Suzuki superbike.

For Ian Lougher this years Ulster grand prix will be a special one as its the last one that Ian will be competing at as Ian is retiring from road racing at the end of this years season. Ian is competing for the WA Corless joinery/Jackson racing team on a CBR 1000 Fireblade Honda in the superbike races.

James Coward, Shaun Anderson, Mark Parrett, Russ Mountford and Michael Sweeney have all achieved good results this season and many spring a surprise or two in the superbike races at this years Ulster grand prix.

The superbike races at the Ulster grand prix always produce good racing and this year is no different, plus theres every chance that the lap record might go.
