It’s rare nowadays to view a link between the TT Races and the World Superbike Championship.
Across the past weekend though, there was one as nine times TT winner, current Senior TT Champion Peter Hickman participated as a wild-card in the latest World Championship rounds at Donington Park.
Chipping away with his form across practice, qualifying sessions, outright Mountain Course lap record holder Hickman aboard the turquoise blue, black liveried FHO Racing M1000RR BMW, would go onto bank three top 22 finishes.
His best finish arose from the Superpole race, with the world’s fastest road racer placing a very respectable 16th in front of notable WSB racers including Eugene Laverty, Kohta Nozane and Leandro Mercado.
Reflecting via Facebook, Hickman summed up succinctly his latest WSB experience:
“Leaving Donington Park happy with the amount we progressed in a few days. Thanks to Faye and the FHO Racing team for all their hard work.”
