TT 2026 Chat: Stephen ‘Trevor’ Parsons

TT 2026 Chat: Stephen ‘Trevor’ Parsons

Leading the Darley Moor Racing – Ben Godfrey Trophy Championship, Stephen Parsons TT 2026 build-up has been in his own words, reasonably smooth.

“So far this year, we’ve done very well, as long as we can carry that on and have a nice TT, we’ll be happy, for once the lead up to it has been reasonably smooth, carry on as we are and we will be happy.”

Senior Manx Grand Prix runner-up in consecutive years, 2018 and 2019, his main objective TT 2026 wise, is to finish a six-lap big bike race.

“For me the big six lapper, that’s what I want, if I can do that, I will go away a happy boy.

Every year since I’ve come back from illness and that lot, first year couldn’t do half a lap, I was absolutely smoked after half a lap.

Year after, we did the Supersport race, that was my limit, last year we did the four lapper, just about doing that, been training a lot, bit of riding beginning of the year, seems to be going all right, racing at Darley, track-day and done a full day on track at Oulton Park.

Doing that not really an issue, so hopefully can do the six-lapper.”

Happy with how free practice explorations went on Monday, Parsons back aboard his own teams S1000RR BMW, last evening, lapped at 122.884 mph, finished a very respectable twenty fourth on the Superstock times sheet, said:

“Bike felt mint to be fair, as far as what we did, it was grand.”

Affectionately known to many in roads scene circles as ‘Trevor’, the back story as to why he has acquired this nickname, is as follows:

“Matty boy (Matt Stevenson), his dad to be fair, we were at Cadwell Park in the clubhouse one night and said Trevor’s a good name, literally next morning that was it. We call him boot, because he always wears work boots.

Literally-that was it and it’s stuck since then, back at work everybody just says Stephen.”
