TT 2026: Browne/Russell Racing Targeting Notable Progression

2025 Steve Henshaw Gold Cup winners Michael Browne and Russell Racing have no doubts that notable progression in Supersport, 1000cc race bouts is possible within this year’s TT Races (25th May-6th June).

The Republic of Ireland’s fastest Mountain Course exponent, the diminutive Browne will be astride this May/June R9 Yamaha (next generation specification), newly obtained CBR1000RR Fireblade Honda appliances.

Expressing his thoughts on the newest TT 2026 rider/teams’ development, the three times Manx Grand Prix winner, 2025 Senior Classic TT race conqueror, stated:

“I’m really pleased to be continuing with Russell Racing. We’ve built a great relationship over the last couple of years, and the programme for 2026 is a big step.

The R9 is an exciting prospect, and having competitive machinery across all classes gives us a solid platform to push for results.”

Alister Russell whose team enjoys title sponsorship again from Boyce Precision Engineering, said:

“The TT is the focal point for us, and this year’s programme reflects how seriously we’re taking it.

Mike has the experience and the pace to deliver across every class, and we’re confident the package we’ve put together will allow us to keep moving forward.”
