Nearing fifty TT starts, Ulster Grand Prix winner, 2014 Irish Road Race Lightweight 400/450 Championship runner-up Michal ‘Indi’ Dokoupil is setting his sights on impressive TT 2025 results, particularly within the Metzeler, Entire Cover Insurance Super Twin races.
Lining up on RS660 Aprilia tackle, thanks to support from a sponsor of fellow Czech rider Veronika Hankocyova, he recently said:
“This year finally I’m on a competitive bike with that class, so I’m trying to focus on the Super Twins and I’m hoping for some good results.
Top ten is minimum, I want to be top ten for sure, and my goal is to be top five because I want to be seen on the TV!
I believe if everything fits to it and, we a have a little of bit of luck, we can achieve something here this year and I’m absolutely focused on that.”
Before TT 2025 arose, Dokoupil was competing on home soil at Horice (300 Curves of Gustav Havel), racing the Ariane Moto3 bike.
Surmising Horice explorations plus the Blackford Financial Services, Pre-TT Classic Road Races, were he jockeyed the Cookson Racing Suzuki Classic Superbike, he said:
“Difficult one because I had the Ariane Moto 3 bike to ride, which is a good bike, was leading the race, good race, then the battery got off with three laps before the start-finish so unfortunately technical issue again.
But I enjoyed the race because I know I’m still on the race pace and that’s what gives me lot more better feeling before coming up to the TT because I got also to ride the 750 SRAD (Suzuki) for Cookson Racing again at Billown.
So, he (Mike Cookson) made some adjustments in one year, he put some more horsepower, couple of bits and pieces, the bike got more 10 more horsepower, so I jumped on it fifth in qualifying after four laps so was happy with that and so now, I see what the TT will bring.”
Dokoupil will be back aboard the Cookson Racing Suzuki, at the Classic TT which follows his next upcoming Horice racing tenure (Czech TT) – (9th-10th of August).
For now, it’s 100 billion percent TT focus as he aims to best a present personal best result of, ninth from the second Super Twins race of TT 2023.
