The Joey Dunlop Foundation team across TT 2023, sold apparel, hats, stickers, key-rings, stress balls and much more at Murray’s Motorcycle Museum.
Amongst the JDF crew helping raise funds is Barry Steels.

Recently I asked Barry how TT 2023 went for the charity, named in honour of 26 times TT winner Joey Dunlop.
“It’s been good, not been quite so busy race days but non race days been really, really busy.
It’s been a good two weeks, weather absolutely brilliant, everybody has been coming in, buying a few bits, it’s been good.”
Going onto speak about the new ten-race TT schedule, he stated:
“It’s probably not helped us so much because there is more racing. When the racing is on, we are quiet, in that respect.
I think just because the weather has been so good, we can’t judge this year like any other year.
We can’t complain, foundation wise just brilliant, everybody giving and it was good to see Michael (Dunlop) doing what he did.
But I am pleased that Joey is hanging onto 26 (TT wins record) for another year.”
Summing up TT 2023 in one word, Barry’s answer was “The weather!”
I’m sure 100’s, 1000’s of fans on Manx shores over the past two weeks will echo this sentiment.
