The blue-riband race, the six-lap Formula Greymouth contest saw 2023 winner Wanaka’s Seth Devereux (Bears & Supersport race winner – new F1 race lap record holder – 47.367 seconds) dethroned by veteran rider Heath Botica.
3.614 seconds covered Botica (F1 race victor as well) and Devereux with 177 plate occupier Daryl Craigie completing the podium finishers.
Mitch Rowe went unbeaten in the Super Motard category, Chris McMeeken topped Post Classic Pre 82, Post Classic Pre 89 fields.
Clive Kokshoorn, Lew Grant, Jordan Leslie respectively scored Post Classic Pre 72, Classic Pre 63, Post Classic Pre 95 race wins whilst F3 honours went to Chris Huddlestone.
In total, seven racers today recorded lap times below fifty seconds, previously mentioned titans Botica, Devereux, Craigie plus Angus Phyn, Garth Wilson, Ian Reed and Jacob Pierce.
In sub two months’ time New Zealand street racing 2024 style, moves onto the ‘Southern Hemisphere’s Isle of Man’, the Cemetery Circuit Races.
Notable confirmed entrants include the two most recent Senior TT winners Peter Hickman and Davey Todd, former Czech Road Racing 250 Champion Wolfgang ‘Wolfi’ Schuster, Damon Rees, Tony Rees.
