Cousin of Sidecars legend Jock Taylor, brother of national racing great Douglas Taylor, the racing acumen runs big in Roddy Taylor’s family.

Before having his entries turned down, the Earlston rider had harboured first-time Mountain Course racing projects in August, tackling the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT Races.

Putting to a side the disappointment regarding this subject, he has since outlined the events he is planning to compete at this year (machinery stable – MV Agusta Supersport – Suzuki Classic Superbike and newly acquired 350cc K2 Honda).

Regularly the Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough solo rider’s representative, the seaside-based circuit features heavily in his 2026 schedule, plotting travels to all-four main road races at North Yorkshire’s golden jewel.

In between the Spring Cup, Barry Sheene Festival, Cock O’The North, 80th Anniversary Gold Cup the RTR crew, which is also running this year, CB 500 specialist Ricky Martin is eyeing Cookstown 100, Pre-TT Classic, Tandragee 100, Southern 100 and Armoy ‘Race of Legends’ tenures.

Taylor hopes to end 2026 roads scene adventures at Germany’s No.1 active roads circuit, Frohburger Dreieck, taking in the IRRC (International Road Racing Championship) season finale.
