Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup Preview – Part 3

Adding an international element to this years Scarborough gold cup are Peter Heijmans and Niklas Pfeiffer. Peter Heijmans made his Oliver’s Mount debut back in 2009 and is entered in the superbike and super twin races at this years gold cup.

Niklas Pfeiffer is making his Oliver’s Mount debut at the 2013 Scarborough gold cup competing in the super twins races on a ER6 Kawasaki. Niklas is a regular competitor in the international road racing championship and achieved a podium finish in the junior support race at this year’s Southern 100.

Oliver’s Mount specialists Mick Goodings, Keith Pringle, Phil Harvey and Paul Owen all have experience of achieving podium finishes at Oliver’s Mount and have every chance of recording similar results at this years Scarborough gold cup.

Chris Palmer achieved a superb double race win at this years classic TT races, Chris has over the years achieved many a race in the 125 and 250 races at Oliver’s Mount and at this years Scarborough gold cup Chris will be aiming for wins in these classes of racing once again.

The sidecar entry at this years Scarborough gold cup is quite fantastic. Leading the entry is multiple times sidecar TT winner Dave Molyneux. Dave is competing on the Elas backed sidecar that took Dave to overall sidecar TT victory this year.

Winner of over 40 sidecar races at Oliver’s Mount Ian Bell starts as one of the favorites for victory in the sidecar at this years Scarborough gold cup. Ian is competing on his Ian Bell motorcycles Yamaha powered sidecar outfit.

Conrad Harrison, Tony Thirkell, Greg Lambert, David Hirst, Dean Lindley and Karl Bennett all have every chance of achieving podium finishes or better in the sidecar races at the 2013 Scarborough gold cup.

Competing for only the second time on a sidecar at this year’s gold cup is Michael Dunlop. Leading sidecar TT passenger Dan Sayle is in the sidecar alongside Michael and both will be confident that podium finishes are possible given that Michael achieved a top 3 finish last year at the gold cup on his debut competing in a sidecar.

The 2013 Scarborough gold cup has attracted over 100 entries and the entry list overall is of a high standard. Within the entry list there’s a great combination of TT winners, rising road racing stars, up and coming road racing stars and specialists at Oliver’s Mount. The scenes set for this years Scarborough gold cup, will we see a new winner of the Steve Henshaw international gold cup or will Guy Martin make it gold cup win number nine.
