Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup Preview – Part 2

Currently third in the Duke road race rankings championship Dean Harrison is the fastest rising star on road racing circuits. Dean won this years cock of the north road races feature race at Oliver’s Mount by 8.6 seconds during a weekends racing which saw Dean achieve five race wins and two second place finishes.

Dean and the RC Express racing Kawasaki by MSS performance team are greatly looking forward to this years Scarborough gold cup, where Dean could well win his first Scarborough gold cup.

Up and coming road racing stars Daley Mathison, James Neesom, Mark Goodings and Dan Frear all have every chance of securing first class results in the superbike, supersport and super twin races at this years Scarborough gold cup.

Ryan Farquhar’s KMR Kawasaki powered by Vauxhall team have a good presence at the Scarborough gold cup for 2013. Leading the team’s entry in the superbike races is Jamie Hamilton. Jamie has had a great season of racing including achieving a top 5 finish in the second superbike race at this years Ulster grand prix.

Team mate to Jamie in the KMR Kawasaki powered by Vauxhall team James Cowton starred recently at this years Manx grand prix. Despite suffering reliability issues in the junior and super twin races James set personal best lap times and recorded a new lap record for the super twins Manx grand prix with a lap speed of 113.4 mph.

Connor Behan is having a successful first full season of road racing and recently achieved a second place finish in the newcomers A Manx grand prix race. Connor is competing in the superbike and supersport races on a 636 Kawasaki.

Ian Lougher is competing in his final ever road race at this years Scarborough gold cup. Having won over 100 times at Oliver’s Mount Ian is a road racing legend and will be looking to end his road racing career in style by achieving top results in the superbike and supersport races when competing for the WA Corless joinery/Jackson racing team.

Ian is also entered in the 125 races and having won the 125 class at this years Southern 100 and at the Ulster grand prix, Ian is going into these races full of confidence in that race victories are more than possible.

Some of the leading newcomers entered for this years Scarborough gold cup include current leader of the Irish road race senior support championship Shane Egan. Shane is set to compete on a SV650 Suzuki, 250 winner at the Ulster grand prix Gareth Keys looks set to make his Oliver’s Mount debut competing on a RS250 in the 250 races.
