The plucky, nimble Super Twin steeds consistently produce top draw competition at Scarborough and expect no different next weekend as a host of prominent 650 specialists, TT/Manx GP rostrum finishers, leading new wave roads talents do battle for class honours.
Ian Lougher’s Team ILR with Frog Vehicle Developments team brings to Scarborough two of their sweet sounding, aesthetically pleasing S1-R Patons.
Jockeys for the pair of Patons are Jacque Foley and Senior Manx Grand Prix winner Joe Yeardsley.
Yeardsley’s reputation within roads scene circles is growing and growing and it wouldn’t be a shock at all, if at the end of the two-day Spring Cup, his results resume features race wins a plenty.
Team-mate Foley whilst still relatively new to pure road racing, proved last year around North Yorkshire’s ‘Mini TT’ his acumen, pace.
Leading lights astride Z650, ER6 Kawasaki, RS660 Aprilia machinery include 2022 Irish Road Race Supersport Champion Michael Browne, reigning Oliver’s Mount Super Twins Champion Gary McCoy (MadBros Racing) and Marcus ‘Spartacus’ Simpson (LMR Kawasaki by Jon Cuff Electrical).
The three of them will have designs on front running performances, same applies to Rhys Hardisty, Rob Hodson, TH Racing’s Jay Bellers Smith, Barry Furber, and his trusty DC (Darryl Connolly) Auto Repairs backed MT07 Yamaha.
Added ones to watch amongst the 38-racer strong entry, include:
Tom Weeden, Jack Petrie, Cowton Racing’s Kevin Barsby & Gareth Arnold, Tigcraft GMA propelled Jack Turner.
Craig Szczypek, Mike Bampton, Scotsman Kelly Carruthers, sole R7 Yamaha runner Garry Broughton, Paul Moir and an inspiration to so many, Chris Ganley.
Newcomers wise, Scarborough debutants hoping to take to the 2.43 miles long circuit in style include 138 plate carrier Craig Jarmin (SK Racing/NB Toolmaking), Thomas Bradshaw plus JMcC Roofing Racing’s Dean McMaster.
All that’s left to say is roll on the race action, as competitors battle it out for JMS Group 650cc Super Twin victory triumphs at the unique, fabled, illustrious, iconic road race venue that is Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough.
