Superbike TT lap record holder Dean Harrison got his latest Southern 100 campaign off to a perfect start this evening, as the reigning Solo champion powered to top of the Superbike practice time sheets.
In great conditions around the hugely popular Colas Billown course, Silicone Engineering Racing’s Harrison who last month doubled his tally of TT victories, quickest Superbike lap time from tonight stood at 2 minutes 16.78 seconds.
This gave him an advantage at the helm of the Superbike time sheets of just over 1.5 seconds, over nearest challenger Dafabet Devitt Racing’s Ivan Lintin (2.18.322).
Third fastest 2015 Super Twins Manx GP victor Rob Hodson (2.18.641) impressed in leading the BMW Motorrad challenge, whilst fourth, fifth and sixth quickest James Cowton (2.19.876), Adam McLean (2.20.240) and Wilcock Consulting Racing’s Michael Evans (2.20.614) all showed accomplished form.
Same applied to ninth quickest and leading Billown course newcomer Davey Todd (2.23.825), plus fellow impressive debutants Brian McCormack (2.25.784) and Martin Jones Racing’s Michael Sweeney (2.32.159).
