Seamus Elliott was victorious tonight in a dramatic supersport race at the 2015 Southern 100.
R6 Yamaha mounted Seamus clinched race victory, after Dean Harrison homing in on race victory on lap seven encountered problems on the Mar Train Racing YZF R6 Yamaha.
James Cowton race leader on lap three slipped off at Castletown Corner on lap six whilst holding second position.
Russ Mountford produced a fine all round performance to finish an excellent second, Russ showed his proven pace around Billown on Silicone Engineering Racing 675 Daytona Triumph.
Clinching third place finish was reigning Irish road race superbike champion Dan Kneen, Dan was happy with third position which marked his first top three placing with the Valvoline Racing by Padgetts Motorcycles team.
Finishing fourth was RC Express Racing’s Ivan Lintin who produced a high quality performance, as did fifth place finisher Jamie Coward piloting Barnes Racing YZF R6 Yamaha.
Completing the top six finishers was 2014 newcomers A Manx Grand Prix winner Billy Redmayne, finishing in seventh position was Joe Newbould, Andrew Dudgeon impressed hugely with eighth place finish.
Rounding out the top ten was Southern 100 newcomer Rob Hodson and Paul Smyth.
In a race which had multiple twists, turns and dramatic moments, Seamus Elliott’s race victory was arguably the highly rated rider’s most iconic moment to date during his pure road racing career.
