Derek McGee edged out both Cookstown BE Racing’s Derek Sheils and Michael Sweeney, for success in a sizzling Supersport encounter at Skerries.
There was nothing in it throughout, as the front running trio thrilled the large crowd, around Skerries.
At the line, on the completion of the seventh and final lap, the gap between McGee and Sheils, stood at just 0.012 of a second!, placing it firmly amongst, the closest finishes in Irish road racing history.

Sweeney in third place, was just 0.616 further back. Davey Todd’s ultra impressive roads debut, continues in abundance, with a fine fourth place finish.
Rigsby’s Racing’s Steven Procter and Darryl Tweed concluded the top six, as the final spots within the first ten finishers, where claimed by Davy Morgan, Graham Kennedy, Paul Jordan and Logan Racing’s Neil Kernohan.
Additional standout performances included Sean Connolly 11th and Steve Tobin in 13th place. In total 22 riders finished one of it has to be said, greatest 600 races, to grace Skerries.
