Overall seven times a world champion, the legend that is Carl Fogarty MBE is confirmed to take part in parade laps at next month’s Barry Sheene Classic meeting, which marks the beginning of a new era for England’s sole roads course, Oliver’s Mount.
Most known for his World Superbike Championship, TT winning exploits, battles with the likes of Steve Hislop, Scott Russell, Robert Dunlop, Pierfrancesco Chili, ‘Foggy’ who’s incredible racing CV additionally includes North West 200, Ulster GP, Macau GP victories, has also enjoyed victory spoils at Scarborough.

Reflecting on making a race winning, lap record breaking debut at the Mount in 1986, plus looking ahead to venturing back to the ‘Mini TT’, piloting a 916 Ducati, which features a replica livery, he candidly stated:
“I made my debut in 86, in the 250 race, broke the lap record and took the win. That was before Farm Bends, flat out over the start-finish – it was mega.
It was my first true road race, and everyone was telling me I was riding too fast. I’m looking forward to getting back into my old leathers and riding the 916.”
