Each road racer gives it everything in pursuit of their dreams, whether they are professionals, near-professionals, grass roots.
It’s no different for Wolsingham’s Kevin Barsby, who recently ventured back to Scarborough for the 70th Gold Cup meeting.
Third, fourth in the opening Supersport B races, Barsby on route to prominent race finishes, lapping in the low 1.57’s, recording a best lap time of 1.57.171 seconds.
Prior to these achievements, Road Racing News caught up with the 15th place finisher in last month’s Senior Manx Grand Prix, chatting about a selection of real roads themed subjects.
Our uncontrived, succinct conversation reads as follows:
Road Racing News:
First of all how was your latest Manx GP experience?
K.Barsby:
“Brilliant, absolutely loved it, best one to date. Definitely my best time on the R6 (Yamaha), best speeds, great event as normal, loved every minute of it.”
Road Racing News:
So, back at Scarborough, how did practice and qualifying go?
K.Barsby:
“Steady away, times started getting better towards the end of the day, so I’m getting somewhere near
where I should be but it’s just good to be back at Scarborough.”
Road Racing News:
Have you got any more races on before the end of the season, or is this your last meeting?
K.Barsby:
“This will be my last meeting, might be tempted to do East Fortune in October but we’ll see how the
funds are.”
Road Racing News:
Is there anybody you’d like to thank regarding this season.
K.Barsby:
“All my sponsors, DR Bikes, Sally Nunn Racing, Gary Hall Buildings, Andy Watson, National Bike Tyres, Michelin, every single person that has helped us, however small it’s all a big help.”
