Road Racer’s Adventures: Wirral 100 Anglesey, Season Opener
Multiple TT, Manx GP regulars took part in the Wirral 100 Anglesey season opener, which in particular was tumultuous for prospective TT newcomer Paul Cassidy.

The Island Fuels supported racer proved the crème de la crème of the Golden Era Supersport class, gaining successive dominant class triumphs.

Castletown based Cassidy also clinched Pre-Injection race two honours, finishing eight seconds clear of top pursuer Mark Pattinson.

Cassidy was bested by fellow countryman, Mistral Racing Kawasaki mounted Joe Yeardsley in the prior Pre-Injection race, following an ultra-competent display from the new Team ILR with Mark Coverdale signing.

Yeardsley is Oliver’s Mount bound for next month’s Bob Smith Spring Cup, alongside the likes of BE/RK Racing’s Michael Browne and SMT Racing’s Rob Hodson.

Southern 100 winner Adrian Kershaw headed the Carl Roberts/Emjess Racing Powerbikes category, whilst others with proven roads scene records, securing rostrum finishes at Anglesey included:

Sidecar race one pace setters Alan Founds/Jake Lowther and Lewis Blackstock/Patrick Rosney.

820cc Twins Race Two winner Dave Hewson, big bike podium finishers Richard Wilson and Bishop Castle’s Barry Furber.
