Road Racer’s Adventures: Norwegian Classic TT

Road Racer’s Adventures: Norwegian Classic TT

Taking place last weekend, at the same time as the final race days of TT 2024, Valerbanen, a small 1.413 miles long circuit, located near the Swedish border, hosted the Norwegian ‘Classic TT’.

The weather greeting racers was true Nordic style, low temperatures and rain.

A mix of yesteryear, modern bikes took to Valerbanen, with 188 entries in total.

Classes for racing were Classic 50cc to 750cc, Classic F1+F2 (1980-1987 spec), Supersport 300, Supermono, GP 250, Classic Sidecars, Classic Superbike, Classic Supersport and national Supersport, Superbike races.

Two of the main stars tackling the Supersport races were well-known names in road racing circles; Erik Kjuus and Osvaldas Lazdauskas.

Osvaldas Lazdauskas is the fastest Jarno Saarinen Circuit Imatra, Supersport exponent from Lithuania. He is anticipated to return to Imatranajo in July.

Discussing Erik Kjuus, he’s a top road racing ambassador for his home nation (Norway) in the same style as TT 2024 RST Star of Tomorrow winner, Croatia’s Loris Majcan. Erik Kjuus is a multiple Manx Grand Prix entrant and fastest Norwegian pilot around Imatranajo, Circuit De Chimay and Hengelo (Varsselring).

He was also a prospective Northwest 200 newcomer in May but ultimately did not participate on the illustrious Triangle course.

How did the two mentioned roads scene pilots fare at Valerbanen Classic TT event. Well, Lazdauskas captured Supersport Race 1 spoils (did not start second middleweight class race) and Kjuus was second in Supersport Race 2 (did not finish Supersport Race 1).
