King of The Roads, Duke Road Race Rankings leader Davey Todd, remains at the helm of the 2024 Pirelli National Superstock 1000 series, following a drama packed two days of racing at Silverstone (GP circuit configuration).
Second, 1.679 seconds adrift of event-wildcard, Monster Energy by FHO Racing BMW Motorrad’s Josh Brookes within Saturday’s stock 1000 race exploration, Sunday’s race bout originally saw the 2024 Senior TT winner, finish P5.
Controversy then struck with race winner twice BSB Champion Brookes, victorious by close to 5.7 seconds, excluded due to a technical infringement (non-homologated brakes). Team-mate, 14 times TT winner Peter Hickman was additionally removed from the race result sheet.
Cheshire Mouldings BMW/TAS Racing’s Todd moved up to P4, bagging 18 points, taking his Championship points tally to 175.
This leaves him ten points ahead of Joe Talbot, 38 points clear of Tom Ward, going into upcoming action at Thruxton.
Todd, Brookes, Hickman were not the only Mountain Course forces taking in the Superstock 1000, British Grand Prix support races.
Honda Racing UK’s John McGuinness MBE attained respectable fifteenth, seventeenth place finishes whilst fellow factory Honda team member, Nathan Harrison, twice finished nineteenth.
