In more natural racing surroundings, MTP Racing’s David Datzer continued his great form at the latest IDM (Internationale Deutsche Motorradmeisterschaft) round at Schleizer Dreieck.
Similar in essence to a road race circuit, Datzer showcased all of his real roads experience at Schleiz on route to victory in the opening Pro Superstock Cup race, finishing six seconds clear of the chasing pack.
The following 1000cc stock encounter would see Datzer drop back to third but have the consolation of setting the fastest lap of the time, registering an impressive record class lap time of 1 minute 27.457 seconds.
Germany’s most recent TT Races competitor, latest top three finishes have enabled him to occupy second within the current Pro Superstock Cup Championship standings, 54 points behind Championship leader Come Geenen.
Attentions now for Datzer and MTP Racing revolve around IRRC round 2 at Horice, as the ever amiable German takes in his first road race of 2021.
