Supporting throughout the past weekend the British round of the World Superbike Championship, Ducati TriOptions Cup racers got their respective 2021 racing tenures underway at Donington Park.
For 23 times TT winner John McGuinness MBE, Saturday, Sunday’s racing would yield a brace of seventh place finishes following accomplished performances from the International road racing legend.
Piloting the blue, green, white liveried Blue Earth Construction Panigale mount, ‘McPint’ quietly under the radar showed solid, consistent pace within the action packed 10 lap races.
Joining McGuinness on TriOptions Cup duty was 2017 Barry Sheene Trophy podium finisher, Immingham’s Craig Neve.
Astride his own squad’s Ducati, the seven times top twenty TT finisher post an opening race finish of 9th, got the better of McGuinness for sixth in the corresponding encounter, with just 0.278 separating the Mountain Course racing exponents.
The next round of the Ducati TriOptions Cup, takes place later this month at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit (23rd-25th July).
