Road Racer’s Adventures: Autumn Bohumil Stasa Prize, Brno

Automotodrom Brno (3.357 miles long circuit) first opened in 1987 when it replaced the old street-circuit (used since 1950 for bike racing) and for 2025 returns to the Moto GP calendar.

A few days ago, the Autumn Bohumil Stasa Prize at Brno, hosted the Czech road racing season finale with sprint races on Saturday and Sunday.

IRRC Superbike Champion David ‘Datzii’ Datzer astride Kramer apparatus, was two times winner in Supermono category and third from the second Superbike race, when aboard M1000RR BMW tackle.

IRRC Frohburg wild-card rider Michal Prasek banked second place finishes in SBK races and a sixth-place finish in Saturday’s Supersport encounter. Slovakian road racing ace Tomas Toth (P7 x2), IRRC 2024 riders Rene Mlkvy, Emil Krchnavy, Marek Stibor a newcomer to La Baneza earlier in the year, also featured in big-bike race circulations.

Outside 1000cc action, a vast, diverse range of roads craftsmen, with differing strands of between the hedge’s voyages, were flying around the iconic Brno circuit, including:

Five times IRRC Supersport Champion Marek Cerveny (P7-P5 Supersport races / P2 x2 Super Twins races), back-to-back Super Twins race victor Petr Najman, Dolny Hricov, Trencin Airport experienced Tomas Svitok, Michal Chalupa.

IRRC Schleizer Dreieck wild card from June, Phillipp Stich, Matej Vit, Martin Hulin, Karel ‘Chupa’ Brandtner, Maxim Zanaska. Female riders, Dymokury experienced Anna Malinova, Marketa Bartonova, Veronika Vojenciakova and Kristyna Jakesch, Sarka Schmidtova and TT 2024 competitor, Wonder Women Racing’s Veronika Hankocyova.

GP 125 class entrants Patrik Kolar, Oldrich Podlipny, German Chris Meyer, Slovakia’s first TT rider this century, Miroslav ‘Laki’ Sloboda (Supersport 300 competitor), UK pilots Richard Peers-Jones and James Walker. Interesting to note that Romania was represented in yesteryear classes by Alex Beleiu.

Roll on 2025 competition in Czech, Slovak road racing circles for modern, yesteryear machinery at Jicin, Holic, Nepomuk, Branna, Horice, Stare Mesto, Dymokury, Kopcany, not forgetting Airport races at Dolny Hricov and Trencin plus hopefully purpose-built circuit racing meets such as covered today, Autumn Bohumil Stasa Prize.
