Hampton Downs was the setting for the Auckland Motorcycle Club Championships season opener, which attracted a diverse, wide ranging entry featuring seasoned, up coming New Zealand street racers.
The dominant force within the F1 Superbike races was Cookstown 100 winner, ex Wilson Craig Racing pilot Daniel Mettam, who powered to a hat trick of victories.
Mettam’s winning margins all stood at post 6.5 seconds, showcasing his potent metronomic pace on Sunday.
Fellow Cemetery Circuit races front runner Rogan Chandler, showed an ultra-brisk turn of speed on route to a quadruple of Formula 2 Supersport successes.
In addition to Chandler, Mettam, added ‘Southern Hemisphere Isle of Man’ exponents racing included Ray Clee, Junior Supersport 300 front runner Caleb Gilmore and Sidecar favourite Tracey Bryan.
