By The fifteenth racer to take part in Road Racing News, recently launched Racing on the Irish Roads – Racers Recollections series is top 12 finisher at Armoy, Aberdeenshire’s Ashley Robson.
Her answers to the Irish road racing themed set of questions, are as follows:
Q1: What is your first Irish road racing memory?
“My first Irish road racing memory would be Tandragee, coming in after my newcomers laps just excited to get back out and go quicker, I thought that track was brilliant.”
Q2: Present favourite Irish road race?
“My favourite track so far is probably Armoy, I just felt like I gelled so well with the track from the get go, I was just grinning from ear to ear after each session.”
Q3: Who is your most respected fellow Irish roads exponent?
“I don’t think I could pick a single individual, I have great respect for all.”
Q4: If you could alter one aspect, in particular, within the sport, what would it be and why?
“I’m not sure what I would alter, would be nice to see a few more females on the grid, alongside the men.”
Q5: To date what has been your favourite Irish roads moment?
“My favourite moment to date would just have to be my first time out.
It was a completely different experience to short circuit racing in the best way, it just ignited that love for racing even more for me.”
Q6: Irish road racing summed up in one word, what would it be?
“One word would have to be mind-blowing.”
Q7: Is there any Irish roads event, that you haven’t raced at yet that you would like to?
“I would quite like to try Cookstown, I’ve heard good things, so definitely looking forward to getting stuck into that track next season.”
